AHASTI's in-class training is in compliance with COVID-19 Regulations!

AHASTI's Response to COVID-19. January 3, 2021 Update.

AHASTI programs are deemed essential services and therefore are permitted to continue face-to-face training. We do encourage all participants to look at the blended options for training which will minimize the face-to-face time for certification completion.

AHASTI is a privately owned and operated company. Our owners are committed to supporting our communities and the COVID-19 initiatives, while maintaining the safety of our staff and participants during this time. We encourage everyone to get their vaccinations for COVID as soon as possible to help protect themselves, their loved ones, and the communities. At this time, is participating in the Restriction Exemption Program.

We are part of the Restriction Exemption Program that came into effect November 15, 2021 with the following:

Participants 12 and over must be fully vaccinated (at least 14 days from second dose of a 2 - dose vaccine or a single does of Janssen)

1. Proof of full vaccination (two doses) - Alberta vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital) is now the only valid Alberta-issued proof of vaccination accepted.
2. OR proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Labs will not be accepted). Home rapid test results will not be accepted.
3. OR documentation of a medical exemption

Masks will remain mandatory for all programs. Please note that you will be required to remove/lower your mask for the ventilation portion of the CPR program for evaluation purposes only (approx 2 mins). Your instructor will inform you when this to be done.

All equipment has been cleaned and sanitized after each student and additional cleaning/sanitization products are available in all classrooms for participants additional comfort.


Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive Instructor

Job Description: The Alberta Health and Safety Training Institute is looking to hire an additional dynamic member for our team! The incumbent is responsible for delivering the Energy Safety Canada's H2S Alive and CSO programs. Flexibility to work weekday and weekends as needed is an asset. Candidates must have a current Energy Safety Canada's Instructor certificate, as well as excellent communication skills. Apply ASAP as qualified applicants may be chosen as they are found! AHASTI does provide a COVID safe and friendly environment with all course equipment and manuals. AHASTI will complete all the registrations. All instructors are required to bring their own teaching matierials and laptop/projector.

First Aid Instructor

Alberta Health and Safety Training Institute is currently recruiting First Aid Instructors, to teach our Red Cross First Aid, Youth and Professional Responder Programs. Qualifications · Current Red Cross First Aid, Youth Leader, BLS, Advanced First Aid or Emergency Medical Responder instructor certification · Great interpersonal skills to create a comfortable environment where people can learn and feel relaxed enough to ask questions · Confident in speaking to groups of people and demonstrating first aid skills and protocols · Comfortable in using a computer (e.g. PowerPoint, Red Cross Boulevard, course manager) for course delivery and other related administrative tasks If you are interested in making a difference with us, please apply with your resume and a brief cover letter.
