Youth Leader

Youth Leader Program - is designed for individuals interested in becoming an Instructor for the Red Cross Babysitting and Stay Safe Programs. This program has two steps:

Step One: Fundamentals of Instruction - (5 - 7 hrs online)
The online, self-paced component contains information on the fundamentals of instruction, such as how to prepare for a course, how to teach lessons, and the post-course tasks that must be completed once participants have left the classroom. It also guides Youth Leader candidates through the Teaching Experience process. The unique focus on application is designed to reduce the theory to practice gap and focuses on preparing candidates to support dynamic, learner-centered classroom environments.

Step 2: Teach Experience - May be required depending on previous experience.
After completing the Fundamentals of Instruction module you will then complete a teach experience with a real class.
