Psychological First Aid - Self-Care

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is for everyone and also supports existing wellness programs. The courses provide a daily aid to facing the stresses of life, and help participants gain an understanding of how to recognize when a they are experiencing distress and what support is available.

Care for Self online module provides an introduction to caring for yourself in times of crisis.

Course duration will vary depending on the individual learner and their prior knowledge of the subject matter.


The following items are covered in this Psychological First Aid - Self-Care class:

  • Intro to Caring for Self
  • Self-Care Plan


45 – 90 minutes in length


The following are the prerequisite that a student is required to have before being allowed into this course:

  • Required - none
  • Recommended - 14 years of age or with adult support


Care for Self will help you build a Self-Care Plan. This what to do in case of crisis plan will assist you in having tools available for you if the need arises. This online module is also one of the required pre-requisites for the Psychological First Aid Program.

Upon successful completion of this program you will have earned the following tickets:

  • None - completion certificate only.
  • At the end of the online module participants must successfully complete a test. Participants that do not achieve 100% can review the module content and try as many times as necessary to advance and complete the course.

This online module will be assigned to you, and can be completed at home when convenient.
