Medical First Responder (MFR) is a comprehensive program for people looking to work or volunteer in the area of first response as part of fire rescue service, police service, industrial sectors, safety and security, and the many other professions that require MFR expertise.

  • 80 hr Advanced First Aid Course Curriculum
  • 16 hr ITLS Trauma Course Curriculum
  • 8 hr MFR Protocols/Scenario Practice

hdgPrerequisites

The following are the prerequisite that a student is required to have before being allowed into this course:

  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR level C within one year of the first day of the course from a Nationally recognized provider

AHASTI's Medical First Responder (MFR) program will teach you the essential skills required to provide first-on-scene, basic emergency care to people before Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrives. You’ll also learn what to do to support EMS after they arrive on scene.

AHASTI's MFR program provides you with 3 distinct credentials.

AHASTI Medical First Responder (MFR) Certification
Canadian Red Cross Advanced First Aid Certification
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Basic Provider Certification
