The following are the prerequisite that a student is required to have before being allowed into this course:

  • ITLS Online component completed


This 16 hr course (8 hour online/8 hour in-class) is designed specifically for Emergency Healthcare providers who are first to respond to trauma patients. This course teaches the lifesaving steps involved in rapid trauma patient assessment and management and basic airway management.

Skills gained in this course will enable you to practice other essential lifesaving measures including spinal motion restriction, rapid extrication, short back board, helmet management, log roll, and long backboard/scoop stretcher utilization. Become an expert in your field in the area of extremity immobilization and traction splint application.
