This blended certification renewal course is comprised of an online theory exam through Energy Safety Canada and an in-person skills assessment through AHASTI.

This course is designed to renew the previously learned skills and knowledge employees require to protect themselves in an environment where there is a hydrogen sulphide (H2S) hazard.
Upon Completion:
Upon successful completion of the online theory exam through Energy Safety Canada (ESC), students will be eligible to complete the skills assessment through AHASTI. Successful completion of the skills assessment will result in a Certificate of Completion that is valid for three years. Should a student be unsuccessful in either the online theory or skills assessment on the first attempt, they will be required to attend classroom delivery of H2S Alive to achieve their certification.
Upon successful completion of this program you will have earned the following tickets:
A copy of the confirmation email provided by ESC after successful completion of the online theory portion of the course, must be provided to AHASTI at the time of the skills assessment. Your attendance will be denied and fees forfeited if not presented to the instructor upon arrival.
Participants must be able to put on a mask and breathe using a Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Participants must be able to take part in rescue drag techniques.
For the skills assessment, students should wear sensible footwear and clothing suitable for the activity and movement associated with rescue techniques and putting on / taking off of a Self-contained Breathing Apparatus.
Basic ability to read, write and understand the language in which the course is being taught is required.
