The Fundamental of Instruction is the beginning step to becoming a Red Cross Instructor. All candidates will be required to complete a discipline specific course along with completing a teach experience to gain full certification.
This segment of the instructor development will focus on the role of an Instructor instructional learning techniques, how individuals learn and basic lesson planning.
The following items are covered in this Fundamentals of Instruction class:
Online: 8 hrs, self paced Classroom: 14.5 hrs
The following are the prerequisite that a student is required to have before being allowed into this course:
The Fundamental of Instruction is the beginning step to becoming a Red Cross Instructor. All candidates will be required to complete a discipline specific course along with completing a teach experience to gain full certification.
People who would like to become an instructor with the Canadian Red Cross at the following Discipline Specific levels:
* Psychological First Aid Instructor (Self Care, Caring for Others, Psychological First Aid)
* First Aid Instructor (CPR Level C, AED, Emergency and Standard First Aid, Emergency and Standard Child Care First Aid and reverts for these levels)
* Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS, Oxygen Admin, Airway Management)
* First Responder Instructor (40 hr First Responder Program, as well as all courses in the BLS catagories)
* Advanced First Aid (80 hr Advanced First Aid as well as all courses in the First Responder and BLS categories.)
* Emergency Medical Responder (80 hr Emergency Medical Responder as well as all courses in the Advanced, First Responder, BLS course)
