Emergency First Aid online/inclass - Combined with BLS/HCP CPR

This 8 hr course is broken down into 3 parts:
Part 1 - Online program for the Red Cross Emergency First Aid with CPR level C to be completed prior to the first class.
Part 2 - The in class component for the Red Cross Emergency First Aid with CPR level C
Part 3 - The in class Red Cross Basic Life Support CPR program


The following items are covered in this Emergency First Aid online/inclass - Combined with BLS/HCP CPR class:

  • Preparing to respond
  • The EMS system
  • Check, Call, Care
  • Airway emergencies
  • Breathing and circulation emergencies for Adult, Child, Baby
  • First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Wound care
  • Perform a rapid assessment
  • Initiate the emergency response system
  • Perform BLS skills
  • Perform rapid defibrillation
  • Additional content may be included based on the requirements of the jurisdiction.


Approx 4 hrs online/ 8.5 hours in class


The following are the prerequisite that a student is required to have before being allowed into this course:

  • No prerequisites, however online portion must be completed prior to attending the 4.5 hours skill session.
  • Participant materials are in an e-book format along with the online component access information.
  • Participants must complete the classroom component within six weeks of completing the online component. If a participant does not attend a classroom session within this timeframe, they are required to re-register for the full course fee and retake the online component before being admitted into the classroom.
  • Recertification at this level of training include attending the full course again.


This Red Cross blended learning first aid program is a combination of in-class, face-to-face instruction with online instruction. Typically, theory and information are conveyed to the participants outside of the classroom through an online component. This allows for the in-class component to concentrate on skills development and the application of theory. For the Red Cross first aid courses, a self-paced, online component is completed first, followed by an in-class skills session with a Red Cross First Aid Instructor.

Upon successful completion of this program you will have earned the following tickets:

  • Red Cross Emergency First Aid with CPR level C valid for 3 years
  • Red Cross Basic Life Support CPR valid for 12 months
