Calgary: Recertifications

Our Instructors are front-line professionals who tailor teaching based on participants’ learning styles and training needs. Dynamic teaching techniques: skills demonstrations, practice sessions, scenarios based on real-life situations, discussions, and exercises. Hands-on training using real materials: mannequins for practising CPR, AED trainers, bandages and splinting materials, auto-injector trainers, inhalers, and additional aids.

Recertification courses will be held at either:
Calgary North: Unit 125, 3510 - 29th Street NE
Calgary South: Unit 236, 755 Lake Bonavista Drive SE.

**Remember that in order to recertify, you must hold a CURRENT, not expired certification of the SAME certification and MUST be brought to the recertification course. If you have any questions, please contact the office prior the course in order to prevent any errors that can not be corrected on the day of a program that may result in forfeiting of fees.

hdgRecertification - Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED

This is a recertification course designed for students that have a current Standard First Aid with CPR Level C CPR certification from any Workplace Approved First Aid Provider. Please remember to bring a copy of your CURRENT certification to your program. Red Cross Electronic Certifications notice: The Canadian Red Cross has moved to electronic certifications as of Oct 2, 2017 for its First Aid and CPR programs. First Aid and CPR participants will have access to electronic manuals as well as being provided in class manuals. The Canadian Red Cross is the “certifying body” that issues the certifications. This change will also maintain the integrity of the certifications, and make it easier for participants to maintain a record of all the training that they do with the Red Cross as well as provide employers the ability to “verify certifications” of all participants completing a Red Cross First Aid and CPR Program after Oct 2, 2017 using the participants last name and unique certification identifier. AHASTI will require a unique email address upon registration or at the time of the course for each student in these programs to ensure that the certifications and course manuals are available and accessible to each student. Employers will not have access to these certifications. Employees will be required to forward a copy to employers upon request. As certifications will not be issued at the time of completion, AHASTI will strive to have all issued within 72 hrs of completion of the training. AHASTI will only be issuing temporary certifications to candidates that require a document within that time period.

hdgRecertification - Standard First Aid with HCP CPR/AED

This is a recertification course designed for students that have a current Standard First Aid Health Care Provider certification from a first aid training agency. hdgWorkplace Emergency First Aid (BC eqv.) and Standard First Aid Recert Combo

Workplace Emergency First Aid with CPR level A is equivalent to Occupational First Aid level 1 and is required for for people wishing to work in BC however reside in AB. THis course recertifies those with a current Standard First Aid and then also needs the BC equivalent. hdgRecertification - Childcare First Aid with Level B

ChildCare First Aid with CPR Level B is a recert course designed for people who care for children: parents, nannies, teachers and home-care providers. In AB this course is the requirement for day-care and day-home workers and meets the standards of the Alberta Family & Social Services department. hdgRecertification: Heart and Stroke - BLS Renewal

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Renewal course is a fast-paced course that allows the experienced BLS provider (those who are confident in their BLS skills through regular use in their work in the ED, CCU, ICU on code team, or paramedics and first responders) the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge through written and skills assessment in a concentrated program.
